Introducing Oxford Search Lab

On 1 January 2026, Alex Sayers and Dan Richardson officially launched Oxford Search Lab.

While the agency is new, our history goes back to when we first met as teenagers through family connections.

We both spent the next fifteen years building careers in the SEO industry, working across retail, eCommerce, B2B, and the charity sector. When we reconnected on LinkedIn a few years ago, we spent three years collaborating on a variety of projects.

That period confirmed we had the same practical approach to search and, more importantly, that we worked well as a partnership.

SEO and GEO Focus

We decided to set up OSL with a very specific focus.

The search landscape is currently volatile, with AI and generative engine optimisation changing how people find information. Many agencies try to offer everything, but we prefer to do one thing properly.

By specialising almost entirely in SEO and GEO, we can provide the technical accuracy and clear direction that organisations actually need when algorithms shift without warning.

This specialisation covers several core areas, from Technical SEO and detailed SEO Audits to the evolving field of Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO).

We also provide Local SEO, GA4 Consultancy, and general SEO Consultancy to ensure our clients have a complete and accurate view of their performance.

A Practical Approach to Search

Our goal is to move away from the fluff often found in digital marketing. We are interested in stable, evidence based results and providing the kind of honest consultancy that helps a business grow predictably.

Sometimes the right answer is not the easiest one to hear, but we believe that transparency is the only way to build a resilient strategy.

It has been a great start to the year, and we are looking forward to helping our clients navigate this new era of search.
